Jennifer Syed

Deputy Director, Asia-Pacific for Adam Smith International

Jennifer Syed is the Deputy Director, Asia-Pacific for Adam Smith International, a global advisory company that works across 50 countries to deliver impactful development programs, transforming lives by making economies stronger, societies more stable, and governments more effective.

Jennifer leads some of the region’s largest programs in fragile and conflict affected countries including Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste and Solomon Islands. Prior to joining ASI in 2021, Jennifer spent almost 20 years working across the private sector and in international NGOs, and has led large country teams in Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Afghanistan, Nepal and Bhutan. Jennifer is particularly passionate about women’s leadership and representation within the development and humanitarian sector.

Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Sydney, is an accredited Chartered Accountant, an alumni of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has a diploma in Humanitarian Leadership from Deakin University.
